Conventional Wisdom

According to conventional wisdom. . .

Conventional : based on what is generally done, believed, or accepted.

Wisdom : the quality of having experience, knowledge, and good judgement.

Generally, it’s obvious, you won’t find any wisdom in convention. There’s just too much inexperience, lack of knowledge and poor judgement going ’round.

The next time you hear or say “conventional wisdom,” regroup. Shorten it to, “According to convention. . .”
